I found it curious that Frank never really examined the central assumption of his book--that Democratic policies are better for working people than Republican policies. I suppose he sees it as self-evident? And of course, although he acknowledges that Kansas has been a Republican state for a very long time, he falls back on the "But the current Republicans are much worse than the old Republicans" argument.
